One. Billion. Dollars.
Nearly a year ago we were celebrating how Activate Fellows had collectively attracted more than $370 million in follow-on funding across six years and seven cohorts. One year and cohort later, it is hard to believe that our 144 fellows and their 106 companies have already surpassed the one billion dollar mark.
However, it is not unfathomable considering the non-linear path that led to this financial milestone. As our companies mature over time, we expect them to move beyond the pre-seed and seed rounds raised during the fellowship and seek higher amounts in series A, B, and beyond. Many of us also believe that the economic slowdown has missed climate tech and the market is still hot for this growing sector.
While we are a fellowship that puts fellows first and celebrates individual successes over company stats, we acknowledge the significance of this metric in the startup world.
