Steven Tran

Steven Tran (he/him) has built his career around supporting technology nonprofits and research institutions. As Activate’s Executive Vice President of Finance and Contracts, Tran leads financial planning and analysis, treasury management, grants, contracts, accounting, and audits. Prior to Activate, he was the Treasurer and Senior Director of Operations at Advanced Functional Fabrics of America, a nonprofit startup funded through the Manufacturing USA program. Before that, Tran served in numerous roles at MIT Lincoln Laboratory related to finance, contracts, and procurement, and managed the renewal of the Laboratory's $1.03B Prime Contract. Tran holds an M.B.A. from Boston University, a master’s certificate in government contracts & procurement, and a B.S. in economics and finance from Bentley University.
