ReynKo is systematically addressing the world's most pressing technical challenges concerning turbulent fluid flows through software, modeling, and hardware solutions. ReynKo's founder and CEO, Justin Beroz, derived an exact physical theory for turbulent fluids that redresses the longstanding "turbulence problem" and provides the foundation for ReynKo's technical development.

Justin Beroz

Justin Beroz is the founder and CEO of ReynKo Inc., which provides technical solutions for turbulent fluid flows. Beroz holds a Ph.D. in mechanical engineering and a Ph.D. in physics from MIT. He believes in an intimate connection between fundamentals and hands-on skills; in short, nothing is more practical than a good theory. Recently, Beroz penned a closed-form mathematical framework for turbulent fluids, constituting the foundation for tech development at ReynKo.

TECHNOLOGY

Critical Need
The turbulent motion of fluids plays an intimate role in our lives and our world. It drives the earth’s weather and climate patterns, produces drag on planes and cars, restricts flow in pipeline networks, and more. Today, approximately one-third of global energy consumption is specifically devoted to overcoming turbulent resistance across a myriad of applications. Yet, the scientific theory of turbulence is incomplete and remains the oldest unsolved problem in classical physics. Our limited ability to understand and model turbulent flows has resulted in only small and incremental technical advances over the past century.

Technology Vision
Justin Beroz, ReynKo’s founder and CEO, derived an exact physical theory that describes turbulent fluid flows as part of his doctoral research in physics at MIT. This work constitutes the company’s foundation for technical developments aimed at systematically addressing the world’s most pressing matters regarding turbulent fluids. ReynKo is currently focused on developing accurate turbulence models and related software code to enable predictive computational fluid dynamics simulations. Following this success, ReynKo will pursue critical modeling applications and develop hardware systems for turbulence suppression.

Potential for Impact
ReynKo’s large potential for impact reflects the ubiquity of turbulent flows. An inexhaustive list of global industries touched by turbulence includes municipal pipe networks; water desalination and treatment; heat exchangers; chemical and pharmaceutical processing; turbine power generators; oil and gas extraction and transport; aerospace, land, and maritime transportation; weather and climate predictions; and cardiovascular and respiratory medicine. It is not hard to imagine new turbulence models and control systems becoming standard practice in such fields. Ultimately, a theoretical underpinning for turbulence constitutes an important step towards understanding our planet and realizing a sustainable energy future.
