Andrew Hsieh

Andrew Hsieh (he/him) is Co-Founder and Board Director at Liminal Insights, a company developing better battery inspection and analytics solutions to accelerate the transition to electric vehicles. As Founding CEO of Liminal, he invented and brought to market a breakthrough ultrasound-based inspection technology that is transforming battery manufacturing quality control. Under his leadership, Liminal secured nearly $40M in venture capital investment in addition to nearly $8M in grant funding and has deployed their products in major battery factories globally. An Activate Fellow alum from Cohort 2016, Hsieh is an expert in electrochemistry, materials science, and characterization. Hsieh holds a Ph.D. in chemical and materials engineering from Princeton and a B.S. in chemical and biomolecular engineering from UCLA.
